1921 was an especially great year for the wines of Sauternes. For the red wines in general, it was a fine vintage, with elegant and well structured wines, since the harvest was of modest volume. The bottles of Château Margaux can still be surprisingly good. Even though the wine is starting to tire, its great finesse is still perceptible.
Exceptionally high temperatures were recorded during the harvest this year and caused great problems during the vinification in many estates. (The picking began 15th September)
