Grand Vin du Château Margaux

1917
The quality of this wine, from a rather small harvest, has long been judged as just average. The most recent bottle opened in 2011 however was quite surprising. The wine was a pretty color. The nose proved complex and seductive, preceding a very fleshy and powerful palate which perhaps could only be criticized for its slightly tannic finish.
