Another great Pavillon Blanc vintage after 2001, though not up to the latter’s extraordinary levels of richness. However, it expresses wonderfully the finesse and complexity of the typical aromas of Pavillon Blanc. The wine is beautifully balanced on the palate, displaying fatness without being heavy, superb length and great freshness in the finish.
The quite adverse weather conditions during the period of flowering resulted in severe millerandage in the old Merlot plots.
The summer was cool and relatively humid, especially during August. Fortunately however, as from September, hot, dry and sunny weather set in until the end of the harvest. (Picking began on September 30th)
