The exceptional conditions in the latter part of the season also made it possible have grand vintage for the white wine, the quality of which, as in the case of the red wine is comparable to that of the 1982. 1983 once again that in very good vintages the Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux has excellent potential to improve in bottle. It is still remarkable today for its freshness and complexity (October 2018)

Climate
After a very rainy spring, the month of June was hot and dry, making excellent conditions for the flowering. The summer was hot and humid, almost tropical, thus causing potential risks of disease. Then, as from the 10th September, very fine hot and sunny weather set in, helping the grapes to reach excellent ripeness levels. (The picking began on 29th September)
