On Saturday, November 22nd, a Château Margaux dinner was held in Singapore, attended by Alexis Leven-Mentzelopoulos, co-owner and CEO of the estate. Organized with the importer Manwah SG, the event took place at the Capella Hotel, designed by Lord Norman Foster, who also designed the new Château Margaux cellar.
During the evening, guests participated in a tasting of the estate’s wines, accompanied by commentary from Alexis Leven-Mentzelopoulos. They were able to discover the following six wines:
– Pavillon Blanc 2020, a vintage marking the centenary of the wine’s name
– Pavillon Rouge 2019 and 2009, illustrating the diversity and quality of this second wine
– Château Margaux 2016, renowned for its balance, energy, and ageing potential
– Château Margaux 1996, now in its prime, offering a depth and precision that make it one of the great classics
– Château Margaux 1982, the final wine of the evening, considered one of the most significant vintages in the estate’s history.
This dinner allowed guests to learn more about the history and specifics of the estate, shared with simplicity and passion by the evening’s host.
