On Saturday March 19th, the last pruning competition of the season took place, organized by the Association of Agricultural Workers of the Gironde.
Château Margaux thus welcomed nearly 60 pruners.
After the practical test and theoretical questions, the competitors were able to attend demonstrations of attaching the vine with wicker reeds and soil work, visit the cellars, and take photos on the château’s steps, before sharing a lunch at the Orangery with the organizers and the Château Margaux staff, during which the estate’s wines were served.
Beyond the competition, this event gave us the opportunity to highlight the skills and knowledge of the vineyard workers of our region.
