We have started harvesting the whites!

From the beginning of July we have had wonderful, very dry hot weather, which has enabled our Sauvignon Blanc to ripen in excellent conditions! We start the whites’ harvest tomorrow, a few days earlier than we had forecast… Even though Sauvignon Blanc is a vine stock that is very susceptible to Botrytis, the grapes are in magnificent health. Just as we wished, the sugar content is not too high and they have retained sufficient acidity to give the length and vivacity that we so appreciate on tasting. It must also be said that, for more than a week now, the cool nights and mornings have helped us greatly in keeping the acid potential.
We are starting our whites’ harvest full of optimism for this 2016 vintage, and are already impatient to taste the first juices…
