The picking of the reds goes on

The fine weather is still with us and the harvest is in full swing. We have already picked all the “great” Cabernets, those that we are sure will go into the blending of the first wine. Their concentration, equally as high in sugar as in tannins, is quite simply incredible! It is well above the level that we were amazed to see at this stage in 2005, 2009 and 2010, and, as the acidity level is also very good, the final balance will not be compromised.

This evening we have only 16 hectares left to harvest, the very last Cabernets and Petit Verdots, which we know from our experience can withstand the vagaries of weather conditions, as they have so often done in the past. So the main work has been completed. All that remains is for us to get the measure of this extraordinary vintage 2015 by tasting it.
